**This
page is in memory of my mother, Marjorie Joyce (Palms) Welch**
September
is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month
My mother,
Joyce Welch, fought her battle against gynecological cancer for
less than a year. She listened to the oncologists and did everything
she was told, every treatment that was offered. She never lost hope
- nor did her family. Her physical disintegration was gradual but
when the end came, it took her quickly.
Cindy and her
sisters, Belinda Beach & Bonnie Gagnon, both of Kennewick, Washington,
have been instrumental in getting the Idaho and Washington govenors
to sign Proclamations declaring that September is Gynecologic Cancer
Awareness month in their respective states for the past two years.
Belinda has also secured several other states during her 2003 efforts.
However, with only localized publicity, the word has not spread
very quickly.
We are creating
this web page to help the press, physicians, cancer patients/survivors,
and their families find the information they need and to help educate
the Pacific Northwest in early detection of gynecologic cancers.
Hopefully the links below will help you find the information you
need and remember, early detection is the key to curing most gynecologic
cancers.
